FINALLY IT’S BACK TO ME. LONG LIVE VINYLS!

There was just an item that was missing at home: my record player.

This is actually the legacy of my wreckage, I gave up the rest and wanted to start from zero. There wasn’t any split of things, just simply took it. Was it right or wrong? I don’t feel any kind of regret, I have it now with me and that’s all.

Anyway, it’s been almost three months since a friend of mine kept it at his place till I was completely settled down in my new Hellhouse, and I’ve been buying some vinyls which are bored to death, waiting for me to play them, among them QOTSA first album, Black Sabbath’s Vol. 4 and Johnny Thunders’ Hurt Me; plus some presents I’ve received lately (Xavi, thanks for The ’59 Sound, you’re awesome!).

I haven’t plugged it into the hi-fi system yet, today it’s gonna be the day. So, one question comes to my mind: what will be the first album I play? Although the answer was easy I was still having my doubts this morning, but there can’t be denial on this matter, it’s gonna be THE album, the one that changed my life and diverted me from the path of the vulgar and conventional: APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION. And yes, I’m proud to say this was another present from a good friend of mine (you know who you are, and for this I’ll be eternally in doubt with you).

This reminds me of something one of my best mates, Gonzalo, said few drinks. If he got the chance to talk to any of the members of Guns N’ Roses, he’d say to them:

Basterds, you destroyed my life! With this album you destroyed my life! I was meant to be a lawyer, listen to U2 or The Corrs! But because of you I’m broke and love Rock more than anything in my life”.

I can’t but completely agree with him.

Some day I’ll write a post praising this album and this band for sure. My top #1.

So, here I am, all by myself, about to lift the needle and fix it to this beloved vinyl, and I know, this is gonna be as pleasant as a shag. Side A, side B, which means being aware of what is sounding, the frying of the vinyl, being careful with the damn dust. Cannot wait, here I go! For your sake!! WoooW!

By the way, not off topic at all, but a personal message, before I forget, Jaume, YOU OWE ME Exile on Main Street…that was the deal!
