TWELFTH NIGHT, TWO LADIES & ONE DIRTY BOY

Finally Xmas has come to an end and I’m glad I’ve survived. Feel very tired though.

To close this season chain of events,  3 dj’s in the city joined for an unforgettable rockin’ session on Thursday, the Twefth Night. Some of you don’t know about this Christian tradition in Spain. On this night and the following day, the arrival of the 3 wise kings to Bethlehem to offer their gifts to Jesus is celebrated. Well, this is another commercial Xmas moment. Kids are supposed to write their letters asking for the presents they supposedly deserve, and that night, they’ll leave a pair of shoes as the mark for the kings to leave the presents. Remember Santa fashion came to this country not so long ago.

I haven’t celebrated this for ages, and usually the present I receive is a great hangover. But this time I received some unexpected presents, and some self-treatments… at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter when or why, receiving presents is great.

Anyway, let’s focus on what’s interesting, the session.

On New Year’s Eve, let’s say I was too affected as to record the list of songs I played that night. it was a pity, as far as I can remember it was a wild one. this couldn’t happen again.

The idea of being 3 dj’s (initially 4) was quite original, but implied some organizational risks, as who was to open the session, how long time each, and that stuff. Probably the fact that we were on a stage, very comfortable, also that Dra Feelgood is my best dj’n mate, and Àlvar, from Four Hands from Hell, was a very very nice dude, made us keep it simple, and share the whole session among the three of us, basically playing one each, so the other had to adapt and improvise. I must admit this method was for the best, improving the session to the max, very dynamic and super fun.

Thus, here is the list of songs I chose for Thurday night. It might seem a bit awkward, but you have to remember we were thre dj’s on stage… hope you like it anyway
